Ticket and Mobile Pass Configuration

New Features!

Brushfire Tickets and Registrations can be created and curated to fit your specific needs!

Event Configuration

Tickets are managed in three different places within your Event Configuration Dashboard, which you can see as you scroll through here:

Ticket Layout Details

Branding and Design

The Ticket Creator allows you to choose an image to display and a background color to match your event branding. While it will always default to no image, it is optimized to fit the Event's Header Image. Therefore, please note the Header Image's recommended size of 1125 x 294 pixels will now be strictly enforced. You will also be able to choose another image from your media library.

Further, the text on the tickets will either be black or white and is determined by whichever is most optimized based on the background color you select.

Finally, you can toggle on the right between the web ticket sample, the Apple Wallet Pass sample, and the Google Wallet Pass sample.

If you do not choose to design each specific attendee type, your tickets will default to whatever you have set up under the Ticket Layout Tab. If you do edit an Attendee Type specifically, you are primarily editing how it looks; the data presented is still chosen here in the Layout Tab.

Ticket Fields and Data Display

Here are the default field displays and the customizable field displays for the following types of events: General Admission, Assigned Seat (Section) Ticketing, Flex Pass, Groups, and Orders with Multiple Attendees.

Click through for each event:

Blocked Tickets and Check-In Gates

If your event has check-in gates enabled — which block attendees from checking in if they have a missing signature or outstanding payment — those attendees will see a modified version of their ticket until they've met their requirements.

What a Blocked Ticket Looks Like

Instead of a scannable QR code, a blocked ticket displays a blurred QR code with an Access Blocked message. The wallet and print buttons are hidden — attendees cannot add a blocked ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and the print option is removed.

A red action button appears indicating what the attendee needs to do:

  • Missing signature: Button takes them to the signature page to complete it
  • Missing payment: Button takes them to the payments page to make their payment
  • Missing both: A single Manage button appears — the attendee will need to resolve all outstanding requirements from there

Refresh required: After completing a requirement, attendees need to refresh the page or tap View Ticket again for their QR code to be restored. The ticket does not update automatically.

Once all requirements are met, the full ticket is restored — including the wallet and print buttons.

Ticket Layout Setting for Blocked Attendees

In the Ticket Layout settings, you can control whether attendees with outstanding requirements can see their QR code at all. By default, the QR code is blurred/hidden for blocked attendees. You can adjust this setting per event if you'd like blocked attendees to still have access to their code.

Why Ticket Rendering and Check-In Gates Are Separate Settings

It's easy to assume that enabling "Allow incomplete attendees to check in" on a check-in session will let those attendees use their ticket right away. But that setting and the Ticket Layout setting above it control two different things, and they don't update each other automatically:

  • The Ticket Layout setting is event-wide and controls whether a blocked attendee's QR code renders at all.
  • The check-in session setting is specific to one check-in session and controls whether that session will let an incomplete attendee through the gate.

If the Ticket Layout setting is off (the default), the attendee's QR code never renders — no matter what any individual check-in session allows. Enabling "Allow incomplete attendees to check in" on a session does nothing on its own if there's no visible QR code to scan. To let incomplete attendees check in, you need to enable both: the Ticket Layout setting (so the QR code renders) and the specific check-in session's setting (so that session lets them through).

Why It's Set Up This Way

A single ticket can be scanned at more than one check-in session for the same event, and each session can have different requirements. For example, your Main Check-In might allow incomplete attendees through, while a separate T-Shirt Pickup session requires a size to be selected first before that attendee can check in there.

Since the ticket doesn't know in advance which session it will be scanned at, the Ticket Layout setting exists as a general, event-wide way to communicate to attendees that they have something outstanding — separate from any one session's specific rules. That's also why blocking the QR code entirely is the more airtight option if you want a consistent block everywhere, while leaving it visible gives you the flexibility to allow some sessions and not others.

Good to know: Even if the QR code is blocked, staff can still check attendees in manually from the Manage page by searching name or email.

Confirmation Email

Now, the confirmation emails will operate and display according to whether or not you enabled tickets for your event. Again, this is done in the Content Tab.

Ticket Enabled

When tickets are enabled, the confirmation email will include a prominent View Tickets button. When clicked and the ticket is displayed (as described above, depending on the type of event),  attendees can add directly to their wallets or print.

If changes are allowed to be made to orders or attendees, they will be able to Manage that from their ticket as well! If changes are set to be prevented, they will not see that option displayed.

Ticket Disabled

When tickets are disabled, the confirmation email will include a prominent Manage Attendees button. When clicked, attendees will be directed to all the options they have within their registration.

Note that even when changes are set to be prevented, attendees will be able to view their order and attendee details, and even print, but it will be clearly indicated they cannot make any changes.

The screens your customers are already familiar with to manage their orders and tickets are all the same.
