Using Vimeo For Online Events

Host your live, simulated live, and on-demand videos with our preferred video partner, Vimeo. The reliability and scalability powers more than 10 million events each year. Vimeo has simple tools to create, manage and share high-quality videos that connect seamlessly to Brushfire.

Whether you want to add a stream to a free or paid event, Brushfire Online gives you options to create an enhanced, customizable streaming experience for your online attendees.

All you need is your existing streaming URL or embed code from the streaming service you use and add it to the desired channel in your Brushfire Online Dashboard.

If you do not make use of a current streaming service, here is a simplified guide to setting up a live stream using Vimeo to connect to Brushfire Online.

  • Equipment to capture audio and video of your event (it could be as simple as a smartphone and a tripod or a laptop with a webcam or multiple cameras and audio gear).
  • Equipment to combine your video and audio feeds to provide the video feed you want to stream.
  • A hardware or software encoder that converts your video and uploads it to a server in real-time.

See prices here.

Alternatively, you can use a Standard or Vimeo Pro account to upload a pre-recorded video to play in your Brushfire Online page (Simulated Live Streaming).

A subscription. Vimeo offers streaming as part of their Premium Package.

Learn more here about the requirements and equipment options.

You will need an RMTP encoder or use Vimeo's Mobile App to capture and stream. (Learn more here about using the App.)

Vimeo promotes their streaming offering as a high-quality solution with customer support and unlimited bandwidth. It also includes live production software.

Select the options for your Embedded Player to generate an embed code.

Copy your embed code and paste the iframe portion of the code into Brushfire Online.

IMPORTANT: Any other javascript code or style tags outside the <iframe></iframe> tags need to be omitted.

Promote your Brushfire Online channel link via your connected Brushfire event on your website and social media.

More in-depth information on how to configure live streaming in Vimeo can be found here.

Note: Set your Vimeo Privacy settings to Hide from Vimeo. Do not set videos you want to use as PRIVATE videos. Your viewers will not be able to see your content.

When adding your embed code or video link to Brushfire Online, you will be able to see a preview exactly as your attendees see the stream.

Brushfire Online provides a home for your event stream, with multiple channels, moderated chat features, links to related content and other customizable features, ALL IN ONE PLACE. Learn more about signing up here.
