The Stripe Reader M2 connects wirelessly with Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) in our mobile app. Before you connect your reader with Brushfire, please make sure you have connected your reader in your device's Bluetooth settings.
Next, log in to the Brushfire Mobile App on your Device and follow the prompts.
Prepare Your Stripe Reader
First, ensure that you have a Stripe payment gateway set up in Brushfire. When asked do you want to accept card or contactless payments, select Yes. Navigate to your account, select your payment gateway, and choose Stripe Reader.
Connecting Your Stripe Reader
Once you've selected the Stripe Reader option, you'll be prompted to choose a location. If a location is not available, you'll be directed to your Stripe Dashboard to create one, as locations can only be created within the Stripe Dashboard.
Handling Bluetooth Connection
Make sure your reader is on and that your device has Bluetooth turned on as well. If so, your reader should populate as an option to select.
If this screen is accessed with Bluetooth off, the reader may not be discovered right away, even after turning on Bluetooth. In such cases, simply hit the back button and return to the screen with Bluetooth turned on for a seamless connection. Answer the next few questions to complete the connection and setup.
Initiating Payment
When it's time to make a payment using the Stripe Reader, the system will provide responsive feedback, guiding the user through the check-out process and offer clear instructions in case of any issues or declines.
Disconnecting and Updates
In the event of a disconnect, the system will notify you with a banner across the top and automatically attempt to reconnect the Stripe Reader. If it remains disconnected, it will prompt you to reconnect.
For updates, you'll receive notifications prompting an update, with options to either install immediately or postpone for a later time.
