Attendees sign waivers after they buy, never during checkout. This keeps checkout fast and lets attendees sign whenever it's convenient before your event. Items that need a waiver show a waiver badge in the cart, next to the spot and group badges. Attendees can tap the info bubble to see each waiver's name and whether it's required.
Where attendees sign
After purchase, a Complete Waivers button appears in all of these places until every waiver is signed:
- The order thank-you page
- The order confirmation email
- The mobile ticket
- The order, attendee, and group pages
Attendees don't need to sign in. Each page lists the waivers they can sign and the status of each one.
Signing a waiver
- Click Sign Now. The Smartwaiver form opens right on the page.
- Review the prefilled information. Brushfire fills in the attendee's name, email, address, and phone from your primary fields. Attendees can edit anything that's wrong.
- Sign and submit. The status updates to signed within a few seconds.
Reusing a waiver they've already signed
If an attendee has signed the same waiver before with the same email address, and it hasn't expired, Brushfire offers to connect it instead of signing again.
- The attendee chooses to use their existing waiver.
- Brushfire sends a verification email to that address.
- They click Connect in the email, and the waiver is attached.
They can always choose to sign a new waiver instead.
Waivers signed by a buyer or group leader
If your event requires waivers at the buyer or group level, only the buyer or group leader can sign them. Other attendees will see a message like "Your group leader has outstanding waivers" or "Your order has outstanding waivers" instead of a sign button.
Removing a signed waiver
Attendees can remove a waiver they signed by mistake. If the waiver is required, they'll need to sign it again.
Why is my ticket hidden?
If the event hides tickets for missing signatures, the ticket's QR code stays hidden, on screen and in print, until all required waivers are signed. A button on the ticket takes the attendee straight to their waivers.
